L’année dernière, on déplorait l’absence de I’m God dans la première compile Instrumental Mixtape, de loin l’une des plus belles productions de Clams Casino, et qui avait rendu acceptable ce cramé de Lil B dans bien des tympans. Réjouissons nous, la voila enfin, nous allons tous pouvoir nous droguer avec le sourire ! On retrouve aussi les instrues filées à Asap, dont le monstrueux Palace, intro et highlight de l’album du new-yorkais, et l’excellent Bass (qui porte parfaitement son nom), ainsi que des remixes liés à Lana Del Rey et le bien cool Washed Out. Sans oublier les excellentes instrues conconctées pour Main Attrakionz, Mac Miller, Lil’B ou The Weeknd (qui se démarque un peu des autres). Pour ceux qui cherchent “Demons”, elle était déjà dans la compile Instrumental Mixtape I, sous un autre nom (Numb).
Bref, si Instrumental Mixtape II ne bénéficie plus de l’effet découverte de 2010/2011, elle aligne de sacrés bijoux, pour pas un rond, et est dans sa globalité meilleure que le premier opus, qui s’affaissait un peu dans sa deuxième moitié. Tout en prouvant que Clams Casino ne cartonne jamais autant que quand il concocte des productions complètement camées pour des Mc (en atteste son ep solo en demi-teinte de l’année dernière).
